Big changes are coming to the Interstate 79 Meadville interchange, which many of our visitors take to get to Meadville.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation anticipates that this interchange will showcase public art and environmental landscaping projects that Allegheny students and faculty will have helped plan and build.
But in the meantime…how does construction on the interchange affect your travel plans? PennDOT has dedicated a website – I79Meadville.com – to helping you get to Meadville with the least amount of muss and fuss. Click here to find project alerts, a timetable for construction, a printable brochure with maps and other information, the number for a telephone information line, the frequency for Highway Advisory Radio, a list of frequently asked questions, and other information.
When detours are necessary – sometime around April 8 – they'll be clearly marked. The delays should be minimal, and you'll get to see just a little bit more of the beautiful countryside that makes this part of the country so appealing.
